This is the annual Sword Dance Union Longsword Gathering and tournament. It will be followed by the SDU’s AGM.
There will be public dancing between 12 noon and 1:30pm, followed by the tournament which commences at 2pm at Hollins Mill, 12 Hollins Mill Lane, Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, HX6 2QG.
The public dance locations are as follows:
- outside Williams Pub, Wharf Street, HX6 2AF, and
- inside Hogshead Brewhouse, Stanley Street, HX6 2AH.
Tournament categories include the following:
- Youth team,
- Traditional/Notated dance performed by the ‘keepers of the dance’,
- Traditional/Notated dance,
- Modern/Invented/Own dance,
- non-competitive display dances.
